The third survey wave 2010
This year the survey has been conducted parallel in Thailand and Vietnam from around mid of April to end of May. The main part of this survey was comparable to the two survey waves before, like interviewing, data assembling and data cleaning.
The speciality of this third survey was a supplemented survey about the migration of the members of the concerned households. After the households interviews have been done, the students tried to find the migrated people in the big cities Bangkok (for Thailand) and Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (for Vietnam). This needed a lot of time and much organizational work, but succeded in around two thirds of the cases for Thailand and around fifty per cent for Vietnam.
In this third wave a dataset of 2071 (Thailand) and 2100 (Vietnam) households have been interviewed.
On the second survey wave an attrition rate of 3,0 % (Thailand) resp. 2,2 % (Vietnam) occurs. It again mostly was caused by migration of the households.
